This latest MISC Beginner UK Skate competitions took place on
the morning of Sunday 8th December
2013 starting at 8.00am.
This change which required the coaches to cancel their early morning
patch session and the Club to cancel the club session was because there
was no suitable date available in the evening as they are had all been
allocated for ice hockey and we all believe it is very important to the
skaters to have the opportunity to compete on a regular basis. Just
being able to demonstrate their skills and improvements only once a year
is not enough and does not reflect the advances they can make in a short
time with the learn to skate courses, schools and practice.
It was perhaps more difficult for the spectators than the skaters to
give up their Sunday 'lye' in to get to the rink
for the 8.00am start.
However once they were there they gave the great enthusiastic support
that this event has become accustomed to seeing, the to
all the skaters right until the end of the presentations.

Such
encouragement and enthusasm is appreciated by all the skaters
and helps spur them on to skating their best.
It is good that this event has such a
great atmosphere and it makes it a very enjoyable and uplifting day for all.
A big hand to the audience. Keep it up.
