Congratulations to John & Sinead
Kerr in their successful skate in the European Championships.
Having been placed 3rd in both the Compulsory and Original dance
sections they secured their Bronze medal by being placed 3rd in the Free
Dance.

John and Sinead have been Murrayfield Ice Skating Club members (now
honorary members) since they started skating. When they are back home
from training in America they keep up their practice at Murrayfield.
We all wish them well in the World Figure Skating Championships, in Los

It is with regret that we have to
advise of the death of one of the founder members and Honarary president
of the Club BOB URE (Robert) (Corstorphine) Peacefully, at the Royal
Infirmary, Edinburgh, on February 27, 2009,
The service is to be held at Warriston Crematorium
Cloister Chapel on Friday, March 6, at 3.30 pm, to which all friends are
invited.

Having been placed 8th the Compulsory Dance they gained 7th place in
both the Original and free dance
sections they secured 7th place overall their highest placing in a World
Championships. . |

Missing Website
For some members who are not Tiscali customers they may not have been
unable to access the website for a couple of days this week. The
ISP which hosted the website is part of ISP '184K' and they have been in
dispute with Tiscali over payment. This week this escalated with tiscali
cutting off access codes to 184K but continuing to providing continuity
of service in the form of temporary access to all users that on the
Tiscali Network.
The Clubs website is now hosted on I12 and Tiscali so it should be
available to all. Apologies for any disruption.
Remember if you discover the website is not available for a period of
time pleas send an e-mail to
admin@murrayfield-isc.co.uk
and we will check it out. the e-mail is hosted by the domain register
and as it is separate from the website will still work. |

Congratulations to John & Sinead
Kerr in acheiving a place in this year’s ISU Junior Grand Prix final
which is to be held in Tokyo from 3rd to 6th December 2009. Their
Bronze medal at the Trophee Eric Bompard in Paris and their Silver
medal at NHK, in Japan, went towards acheiving their place in the final.
This is the first time since the start of of the ISU Senior Grand Prix
series that British skaters have secured a place in the final.
We also wish John & Sinead the best of luck this week at the
British Championships in Sheffield, where they are skating to
retain their British Senior Ice Dance title.

| There is no 'official' opening ceremony this
year as this is taking place at the Christmas tree on the Mound, however
some Murrayfield skaters are taking place at the Skating derby. If
members are interested in supporting their fellow club members and would
like a mince pie (and mulled wine for the older members) they have been
invited by the organisers to attend. Members in Edinburgh should have
already received a poster from the Gilded Balloon Productions which will
allow them entry on Thursday. If you have not received one and would
like to attend then

Golden Skaters Waltz |

Starting on Sunday there is a 2
week skating course for members on the Golden Skaters Waltz.
The course 30 minutes per week and limited to a maximum of 10 Club
members age 14 or over.
You can register for the course on Sunday or send a

to confirm a place on the course. |
